Recharge serves as a gateway for engagement in the energy transition, strengthening food security and community building.

Founded in 2023, Recharge Inc addresses the fundamental connection between food security and energy access in marginalized communities. We partner with communities in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia using Asset-Based Community Development to amplify voices in the energy transition.
We use community-based participatory research to develop high-resolution energy data reflecting marginalized communities' experiences. Our community gardens serve as living laboratories teaching energy literacy while addressing nutrition security through hands-on learning and food production.

We deliver integrated programming combining energy literacy education, community garden operations, and garden-to-table training. Programs serve DOE-identified disadvantaged communities, building capacity for food sovereignty and energy advocacy across all ages.
